Return
Harriet St. to Yellow Banks, 7/4//02
5 boats, 8 paddlers enjoyed the 4th of July on a scenic river with enough water to be comfortable and enough sand bars to stop just about anywhere.  Smoked salmon, red foccacia bread, and peach muffins were enjoyed by all.

We were shuttled, launched, and looking forward to a scenic river float by 10 AM
Kathryn found some nice riffles along the way
An hour in we parked on a sandbar upstream from the eagle nest
Our happy group, photo by Cynthia  Bob, Ellen, Gerry, Kathryn, Deb, Henry, Margeaux
Bob and Henry pose with the results of their cleanup  (the real treasure is in leaving the sandbar a better place)
Margeaux discovers that a tethered kayak is hard to turn
An eagle was seen, this is the nest
Deb was quite good at turning a sit-inside into a sit-on-top
Cynthia's kids were great the whole 10 miles
Margeaux was still smiling after 10 miles, Henry was practicing his "bug intimidation" techniques
Our destination, the high yellow banks of Yellow Banks Park
A short movie of the activities on the sand bar
Long version of on the sandbar
