Comments from Bradgate

Mr. Rowland,

I was very impressed with your article in the Des Moines paper. I have lived on this part of the Des Moines River all of my life and I know what you mean by the beauty that you enjoyed on your trip.

Our farm sits in the horseshoe shape just south of Bradgate. We have been working over the years to try and restore some of the area to wildlife and wetland areas. We are working with the Iowa Trees Forever and Iowa Farm
Bureau to do a streambank restoration on the river.

I am also involved with the Des Moines River Restoration group that is working to restore the Rutland dam and to make this a class A recreation area again.

We would like to have any comments that you might have to help with our
mutual projects. I think we can work together to convince the Legislature
to put some resources into natural beauty that we have here in Iowa.

I look forward to hearing from you. I can be reached at 515-375-6738 or
e-mail at pjwarren@jumpgate.net

Thanks for your time.
Ron Warren
