Lullaby of Birdland Feb. 6, 1999 Just 1 mile north of downtown, Birdland Marina is a soothing sight. Union Park, with its restored carousel, is just to the east. This is the home of the Drake Rowing Club, and the haunt of jet skiers in the summer. I had the peace of the river to myself this day as I floated gently down to the Botanical Center. |
