The stillness of the boxcars, the gurgle of the fast moving river full of melting ice and snow, the soaring eagles, were a magnificent send-off for the 9 mile run down to Yellow Banks Park.

I had just been chatting with these guys about how fish like to swim with the yellow kayak, when one of them pulled a big silver gar out the water. These guys liked my hat, or so they said. The Des Moines waste water treatment plant is in the background.
