A touch of color on the high bluffs near Kalo

About 3 miles downstream, I enjoyed renewing my acquaintance with these wooded hills. The residents of Ft. Dodge and Webster County are fortunate to have a river road through such scenic beauty. There is some clean-up to be done, and we,re talking couches and chairs along the river bank (hint).

The view from the Kalo bridge

This photo was taken from the bridge as I was scouting the river prior to launch. The water is low, and the river full of rocks and boulders, but the current really picks up as you hit these mini-rapids and try to find the channel that will keep you off the rocks. It is well worth the effort to be able to see the natural beauty of this area of Iowa.
