Thanks to the nice fisherman and his daughters who let me set up the boat in peace and took this photo of me below the dangerous REC low head dam. The abandoned power plant is in the background.

Don't try this in high water

I was able to get near the dam for a photo of the fishing family, the dam, and the river bank along Farmer Erickson,s portage road. This farmer is very good to paddlers, and his access road makes this run from Humboldt to Ft. Dodge possible.
