The river trip on Saturday was great. My system went just fine. I was in the car at 6 AM,
and it was a 2 hour trip to Eveland access (north of Eddyville), where I left the tow car. I
put in just south of Red Rock dam, and went 20 miles south. This was an area with lots
of campers and summer cottages along the river bank, so lots of folks waved and chatted
as I went by. The cat in the hat kayak elicits whoops of surprise from the riverbank.

I recovered the boat at Eveland at about 2 PM, drove back up to Red Rock and hitched
up the tow car to the van, and was home by 6 PM. So, I'm about 200 miles into my 400
river trip along the Des Moines (from Minnesota to the Mississippi).

And, I mowed the lawn and fed the gold finches and chickadees on Sunday!!
